ACS COBHAM HIGH SCHOOL
COMMUNITY SERVICE DIRECTORY
Introduction
There are many different reasons why people choose to participate in community service activities. Some of these are:
To meet people and make new friends
To contribute to their community
To try out activities that may help with making a career choice
To learn skills such as teamwork that may be valuable in a future career
To gain worthwhile experiences for a university or job application
To fulfil requirements for the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma or Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) program
These are all good reasons to participate in a community service activity. This directory is designed to provide descriptions and contact information for community service activities available in the ACS CobhamInternational School community and off-campus. If you would like to use your service hours in an activity for CAS (IB) or DofE credit, you should check with your CAS/DofE supervisor that they meet the program requirements.
Note: All listings in this directory are intended for informational purposes only. None of the off-campus organizations are endorsed or promoted by ACS CobhamInternational School. Each school year a list of the extra curricular clubs/activities and the school staff members who sponsor them is published.Students should contact the sponsors for details such as meeting times and locations. The clubs offered may vary from year to year so students should check the list for the current school year.
